10th Anniversary Events

2009 is the tenth anniversary of Glasgow the Caring City. Many of the forthcoming events are based around this theme and include social gatherings for volunteers in addition to charity promotion events. Please read the event outlines carefully:

Solve Presentation

30th June

Solve HQ, Lanark

A presentation to the Solve community group who support Glasgow the Caring City through a community knitting initiative.

Charities and online media for fundraising

24th June

A presentation by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisation and Whitebox promoting the use of online media for fundraising and publicity

Fashion with Compassion

June 2009 - September 2009

An online Facebook community promoting events, information, live updates and group discussion on the work of Glasgow the Caring City and our role in the theatre of international aid and development

The Submarine Kilties Reunion

May 2009 (Date, Venue to be confirmed)

A reunion event bringing together the volunteers who committed time, energy and compassion during our long, arduous but thoroughly exciting convoys to Kosovo

Give a Kid a Goal Graduation and Party

June 2009 (Cathcart Old Church, Date to be confirmed)

A celebration of the graduates passing through the Give a Kid a Goal programme. The event is specifically for parents, family and friends of the children enrolled in either of the participating schools.

Glasgow the Caring City Homecoming 2009

The Grand Finale to a year of celebration, bringing together the work of the charity, the people we help and the volunteers who make it all happen. All ticket event. Prices to be confirmed.
